Then, you’ll climb aboard the sleigh and take the reins ready for an exciting ride – a maximum of three passengers is allowed unless you’re taking the tour in Rovaniemi where instead you’ll hop aboard a big sleigh driven by a professional. Watch as Lapland’s snowy scenes pass you by and soak up the experience.

Hugging the shores of the Red Sea, the 5,000-year-old city gem that is El Quseir is a town steeped in historical, colonial and trading significance. Then it’s off to explore the typical town centre and see a snapshot of everyday life in the bazaars of the shopping district. You can even pick up a bargain on locally produced artisanal goods – but don’t forget to haggle. It’s all part of the experience.

After some time to yourself taking the sights and sounds of the city, a short bus ride will have you back at your hotel.

Marsa Alam Desert Quad Tour

Camels may well be the traditional local means of desert transportation. But they certainly aren’t as an exhilarating a way to kick up the desert sands as a roaring quad bike.

This guided evening excursion will take you on guided trails as you zoom through the dunes of the desert for over an hour. After this adrenaline-pumping session, you’ll pop off your goggles and helmet for a short break before re-mounting your iron horse and continuing to the nearby beach.

Satisfy your need for speed as you skid across the waters lapping the beach as the sun sets across the desert – your visor, helmet and scarf concealing the massive grin across your face.

In keeping with the pace dictated by the timeless sand, life in the desert seems unhurried – but that doesn’t mean you can’t have an adrenaline-fuelled adventure. After tearing over the dunes on a roaring quadbike, catch a spectacular sunset, take a camel ride and enjoy a delicious barbeque with a side order of traditional entertainment.

Get to know your powerful machine, then don your helmet and be ready to ride. Leaving clouds of dust behind, zoom across the desert landscape and head up and over rolling sand dunes.

After a thrill-pumping session, you’ll head back to base to catch nature’s nightly celebration – a spectacular desert sunset. Then after a quick camel ride, there’s a slap up barbecue meal to enjoy with a side helping of traditional entertainment like belly dancing and folk music.

Abu Dabbab Snorkelling Tour

Few snorkelling or diving locations in the world boast as many ‘ticked boxes’ as the famous Abu Dabbab beach location – two spectacular reefs flank the warm and sheltered waters that line the pristine sands of the immaculately clean beach.

These reefs, which can be accessed by diving in directly from the beach, offer the likelihood of snorkelling with green turtles, a glittering array of colourful fish cruising amid the thriving coral.

Kick off with a dawn run down the coast to board your boat for a full day’s snorkelling at this world-renowned spot. The morning breeze on the glittering sea will soon fill you with anticipation for the day ahead.

Sataya is a shallow lagoon and reef – and famed for snorkelling in its own right. But it really comes to life if you happen upon a one of the many pods of wild dolphins that inhabit its warm waters. The chances of cavorting with these majestic creatures are doubled as you are taken to a second dive site after an on-board lunch.

There’s a good likelihood that you’ll enjoy an epic dolphin-swimming experience throughout the day but, even if you don’t, the abundant other marine life will make the trip worthwhile.

Sunset is when the Red Sea really lives up to its name. This exclusive adults-only boat trip kicks off with some snorkelling, revs up with a barbecue dinner and then reaches a crescendo as the sun slowly sinks beyond the horizon – this is what being on holiday is all about.

There’s no better way to get acquainted with the Red Sea than by diving into its waters teeming with marine life. You’ll visit one of Egypt’s premier diving spots, at Marsa Mubarak to snorkel along the rainbow-coloured coral and discover what feels like another universe. And if you’re lucky, you might spot sea turtles or dugong – also known as the sea cow.

Back on board, a sizzling barbecue will be prepared for you to savour after the snorkelling. Munch away on the tasty fare and wash it down with some Egyptian sparkling wine as the boat glides towards the grand finale – sunset. And when the stars come out, you can stay on board to watch the skies, or go for a night time swim – illuminated by powerful underwater lights, you won’t miss a thing.

After joining your 4×4, you’ll rumble into Egypt’s mountainous Eastern Desert. After an hour or so, you’ll arrive at a traditional Bedouin tented camp, where your guide will take you to meet these friendly tribespeople, many of whom still live a nomadic lifestyle.

Then it’s time for white-knuckle thrills with a quad bike ride. Pull back the throttle and zoom along the rugged tracks and dunes. Afterwards, take to a more traditional form of transport, climbing onto a camel for a short, sheikh-like ride. Excursions Croatia by Musement

Elaphite Islands

There are more than 1,000 islands in Croatia – but few are more beautiful than the 13 in the Elaphite Islands. On this full day island-hopping excursion you’ll visit the two largest – Lopud and Sipan – and explore these oases of scented citrus plantations, pine-clad hills and sandy beaches.

After pick-up at your hotel, we’ll head for Gruz port to hop on a boat and sail to Lopud. The second largest island in the archipelago is car-free and mostly covered in thick woodlands, among which can be found long-abandoned chapels. You’ll have free time to wander around the picturesque old harbour or drop into the Franciscan monastery.

We’ll then sail to Sipan, the largest of the islands, for a lunch of either fish or chicken. It used to be the summer playground of Dubrovnik aristocrats, and palatial villas in various states of repair can be spotted. Stroll the promenade under gaze of locals playing cards in cafeterias or knitting in porches.

The Best of Montenegro

A trip along ever-changing south Dalmatian coast from Dubrovnik takes you to the tiny country of Montenegro – a land of great natural beauty and immense cultural heritage. You’ll explore Kotor, Perast and the island of Our Lady of the Rocks during this full day tour.

The day kicks off in Perast, where you’ll visit the small island of Our Lady of the Rocks and the church bearing the same name – famous for the 68 frescos painted by one of the masters of the baroque fresco painting, Tripo Kokolja. Our next stop will be Kotor – a UNESCO-listed fortified medieval town, which is presented in its full beauty during a guided tour.

You’ll have free time here, too. Drop into the famous St Tryphon Cathedral – considered a masterpiece of Romanesque architecture – and the Maritime Museum, or soak it all up with a drink in the square.

Bay of Kotor Cruise

Montenegro’s Bay of Kotor is the stuff of legends. Jaw-dropping mountain scenery, shimmering blue waters and the walled town of Kotor make this fjord-like landscape a must-see. You’ll visit Our Lady of the Rocks islet during a boat trip in the bay. This is one of our TUI Collection excursions, which give you a local flavour of the destination while showcasing its unique, authentic and responsible values.

After a drive along the Dalmatian coast to Meljine, you’ll board your boat and sail in search of the bay’s natural beauty – it’s also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll even have the chance to swim. Then, it’s back on board to glide through the bay to the fairytale-like islet of Our Lady of the Rocks.

Discover this dinky church, famous for its baroque murals and stunning location. Back on board, we’ll sail past Perast, Stoliv and Prcanj en route to Kotor town. Here, you’ll have some free time to explore this fortified medieval pearl packed with Venetian palaces.

Riviera Cruise

The Korcula archipelago’s 20 islands, islets and cliffs stand out for their beauty even in such as beautiful region as Dalmatian. This amazing boat trip takes you to island such as Badija, Vrnik and Majsan, and also to pretty fishing village of Lumbarda, where you’ll have free time to hit the beach.

Glide over to Badija, separated from Korcula by a narrow channel and famed for its 15th century monastery in the Dalmatian Gothic style. Three islands south is Vrnik, the only one in the archipelago still inhabited. You can visit some of the quarries – stone from here was used in Ayia Sofia in Istanbul and Washington DC. And on Majsan, there’s a recently unearthed pre-historic site. What’s more, there’s a wine tasting on board.

After all that island hopping, it’s time to dock at Lumbarda, which was the first Greek colony in the Adriatic in classical times. Maybe visit the villas of the old noble families or vineyards growing the local Grk grape, or go for a swim during your free time here.

Lokrum Island Sea Kayak Tour

A bit of adventure is required for the best panoramic views of Dubrovnik. And this sea-kayaking tour wraps up views, exploration and hidden caves all in one. You’ll paddle out from Pile to explore the caves and hard-to-reach beaches of Lokrum Island. To top it all off, there’s a spot of snorkelling before the return crossing.

After meeting your instructor in the old port near Pile, you’ll paddle across the Adriatic to the wooded island lying off the old town. Remember to look back for an incredible panoramic view of Dubrovnik old town before you get too lost in discovering the island’s hidden treasures.

After paddling around Lokrum, we’ll head back to the mainland. Caves dot the coastline to the southeast of Dubrovnik and you’ll soon reach Betina Cave beach, which is only accessible by boat. Here, you’ll get to take a well-deserved break to snorkel and snack on sandwiches. Then, we’ll set off back towards the city to paddle beneath the city walls.

You’ll arrive at the village of Brajkovic to visit the first winery on the itinerary, then it’s all aboard to ride to Ljuta by train. See how flour and wool used to be produced at Đivanović mill, and continue to Vodopić vineyard for a well-earned tasting.

There’s three levels ziplines to try, and it’s sure to get the heart racing.

After plenty of activity, you’ll have some time to relax on the seven metre high oak tree terrace that looks out over the Konavle valley. Dubrovnik Old Town Tour

Once the holiday home of choice for Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, Dubrovnik’s enjoyed almost a century in the spotlight. These days, it’s the likes of Tom Cruise and Michael Douglas who are spotted here. And it’s easy to see why. This walking tour of the old town brings you an impressive line-up of sights in just under two hours.

Meet up with your guide in the early evening and set off on a guided walk of Dubrovnik’s old town in the prettiest light of the day. The area’s packed with Baroque churches, Venetian houses and ornate palaces. Not to mention designer shops and homey restaurants, splashing fountains and bell towers. All of which you’ll spot during the tour.

Top billing, though, has to go to the chunky walls and battlements that surround the city. Places don’t come much prettier than this – no wonder the poet Byron dubbed it ‘the pearl of the Adriatic’. After the tour, you’ll have free time to explore under your own steam, or enjoy an aperitif.

Cilipi Folklore Morning

The village of Cilipi, just south of Dubrovnik, sets the scene for this half-day tour. You’ll be immersed in Croatian folklore and traditions with Sunday mass at St Nicholas Church, a show and market where you can browse all kinds of handicrafts.

You’ll be welcomed right into the heart of the village of Cilipi with a drink and snack – grape brandy and figs – before you hear the bells call for mass. And in the church square, you’ll find the Sunday market filled with stalls selling silk embroidery, handicrafts and souvenirs. Watch the locals, all dressed in their finest, head into mass and enjoy the typical village scene unfold.

After the service, a celebration takes place as locals dressed in typical clothing – white shirts, red belts embroidered with gold silk and bright red shoes – take to the square to perform songs and dances from the region. You’ll have a chance to browse the market stalls while listening to the rhythms of Dalmatian music. A fascinating glimpse into village life.

Cilipi Folklore Morning

Republic of Dubrovnik

A day of world-class sightseeing. On this trip, you’ll explore three jewels of the Adriatic with visits to the walled village Ston and Dubrovnik as well as a wine tasting in the Peljesac peninsula.

First up is tiny Ston. Once the defensive outpost of the Republic of Ragusa – as Dubrovnik was known for centuries – its walls, which snake up a hill, are said to be the longest standing in Europe. We then head to Dubrovnik. Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site old town with your guide, see Onofrio’s fountain, the cathedral and much more.

Then, after some free time in Dubrovnik, the journey back takes you through the vineyards of the Peljesac peninsula. Here, you’ll indulge in a wine-tasting session. A great way to round off a day steeped in the heritage of Dalmatia.

Famous legends of Peljesac and Korcula

Known as ‘Little Dubrovnik’, Korcula town is full of historic sights and it’s more than easy on the eye. Along with the wine-producing area of Peljesac and the walled village of Ston, it’s one of the star turns of this fascinating excursion.

Korcula town is perched on a peninsula in the northeast corner of the large island of Korcula. We’ll reach it after a boat ride across the Adriatic from Orebic. And once you’ve stepped inside the honey-coloured town walls, you’ll find a slice of vintage Croatia that’s all red-roofed tiles and marble streets. Explore a bit and you’ll be rewarded with sights like the ornate St Mark’s Cathedral and the house where locals claim Marco Polo was born. Dip into the galleries, admire the churches or drop into one of the pocket-sized cafés.

The journey back takes you through the vineyards of the Peljesac peninsula – where you’ll get to indulge in a tasting session – and tiny Ston. Its walls, which snake up a hill, are said to be the longest standing in Europe.

Mljet Island Tour

Over two-thirds of Mljet is covered in forest, so this Adriatic gem is as unspoilt as they come. On this half-day, small-group trip by van you’ll trundle through most of the villages on the island, stop off at Babino Polje, and hit the sandy beach in Saplunara for some much-deserved swimming.

As the largest of the islands in the Dubrovnik archipelago, there’s plenty to explore around forested Mljet – including legends surrounding Odysseus. You’ll head inland by bus, ticking off a string of villages and lookout points for photo opportunities with the Adriatic Sea as the backdrop.

Then, once you reach the largest settlement, Babino Polje, you’ll be able to get out and about, taking in the 15th century Rector’s Palace and Renaissance buildings as you wander around. Finally, the lure of the turquoise water will prove too tempting, and you’ll have one last hour-long stop at Saplunara for swimming and sunbathing.

Korcula Boat Trip

Beautiful beaches, fantastic food and a fascinating old town are just a few of the reasons to visit Korcula. Admire one of the largest islands in the Adriatic from the decks of a boat, then come ashore for free time to explore her history-packed old town, dine on delicious Dalmatian dishes or swim from the shores of her rugged coastline.

With free time to use as you choose, you can go in search of where locals say famous explorer Marco Polo was born, poke around all the must-see monuments in the old town or pick a restaurant for lunch. Korcula Boat Trip

Odysseus Cave from Mljet

Legend has it that Odysseus took shelter in one of Mljet’s caves after a shipwreck, and the name’s stuck ever since. You’ll take a boat trip out from Pomena to take a look, and swim if you like, inside this egg-shaped cave.

Once Odysseus landed on the shores of Ogygia, now known as the island of Mljet, he couldn’t resist the charm of the nymph Calypso and the island itself. So, it’s said he stayed for seven years before he was free to go, and you’ll see it all for yourself on this boat trip to Odysseus Cave.

After sailing for just over an hour, you’ll anchor up in front of the cave, which from the outside looks just like a small tunnel carved into the limestone rock. Then it’s up to you whether you swim or take a smaller boat inside, where once you’re through to the other side, everything opens up before you. You’ll have about an hour to take it all in before your return boat trip.
