The Archaeological and Landscape Park of the Valley of Temples in Agrigento is an archaeological site in Sicily which boasts an incredible state of conservation.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997, the Valley of Temples offers one of the largest archaeological complexes in the Mediterranean. It is characterized by an agricultural landscape of rare beauty, dominated by century-old olive trees and almond trees, and comprises no less than ten Doric temples, shrines, several necropolises, some hydraulic works such as the Kolymbethra Garden, and the Hypogea.

The Archaeological Park of Agrigento, in Sicily, has a width of about 1300 hectares and houses an extraordinary monumental heritage and landscape, which includes the remains of the ancient city of Akragas and the surrounding area, with its stunning views of the sea. Akragas was one of the most important Greek colonies in Sicily, founded in 582 BC by settlers from the nearby Gela and from Rhodes. Enjoy the search of the Alba white truffle, appreciated all over the world. The Alba white truffle season runs from October to December, while during the summer months you can enjoy the black truffle, famous throughout the world for its unique aroma.

Through this tour you will have the opportunity to live a 360° experience, starting from the search in the woods and leading to the tasting of truffles paired with typical products of the Langhe. You will be accompanied by the ‘Trifulao’ (a truffle hunter expert) and his dog through the hills, which are now a declared UNESCO World Heritage Site, walking in the woods and digging in search of the precious tuber.

The trifulao, through many funny anecdotes, will tell you about the characteristics, history and techniques of truffle hunting. The experience will end with a visit to an old cellar and a tasting of the great Langhe wines (including Barolo), accompanied by a chopping board of cold cuts and tastings of black truffle products.

Inside the MÚSES, a unique technological and sensory museum in Europe, you will be able to keep alive the tradition of medicinal herbs in Piedmont and go on a journey discovering the art of perfume, the essences and the flavors of the country.

Following the interactive exhibition through the video installations, site-specific works by international contemporary artists, where the secrets of the perfumery art will be revealed.
